Larry Ponemon
Ph.D., Chairman and Founder, CIPP
Dr. Larry Ponemon
is the Chairman and Founder of the Ponemon Institute, a research
“think tank” dedicated to advancing privacy and data protection
practices. Considered a pioneer in privacy auditing, he serves as
Chairman of the Government Policy Advisory Committee and Co-Chair
of the Internet Task Force for the Council of American Survey and
Research Organizations (CASRO).
Prior to founding Ponemon Institute, Dr. Ponemon was a senior partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he founded the firm’s global compliance risk management group.
Dr. Ponemon earned his Ph.D. at Union College in Schenectady, New York and has a Master’s degree from Harvard University.
Karen Hsu
Director of Product Marketing for Data Privacy solutions
– Informatica
Ms. Hsu is the Director of Product Marketing
for Data Privacy solutions at Informatica and has been instrumental
in bringing new Data Integration solutions to market, including
those for Data Quality, Data Privacy, MDM, and Data Transformation
and Exchange. Prior to Informatica, she drove the development and
go-to-market strategy for new software applications in CRM, product
configuration and pricing, and data integration at high tech start-ups
and public companies including Intel, IBM (CrossWorlds), and Oracle
(Siebel).
Karen holds a bachelor of science degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
